The Andaman Islands form an archipelago in the Bay of Bengal between India, to the west, and Myanmar, to the north and east. It is a part of India.
Port Blair, the gateway to Andaman & Nicobar Islands is connected by Air and Sea. From Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Banglore etc, regular direct flights are available and from other places you can take the connecting flights.
Ship Services are only available from Chennai, Kolkata and Visakhapatnam to Port Blair (Note: It is normal ship run by Govt. not a Cruise.)
For Indians there is no need of passport/permission/visa. Only you have to carry original photo identity proof like Aadhar Card, Voters ID card, Driving License, PAN card or any, but the document must include a photograph.
The Currency of India, Indian Rupees is used in Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
The Andaman Island, like other parts of the Andaman Sea enjoy a tropical climate throughout the year. The average minimum temperature is around 26 degree celsius and maximum temperature is 33 degree celsius.
All Indian States and Union Territories follow a common time zone all year round i.e. IST(Indian Standard Time).
Being an Island, Seafood off course on the top of the list. You get various varieties of seafood. Apart from seafood North Indian, South Indian, Continental is also available. And for Vegetarians- There is no problem at all in places in Andaman.
Andaman has become a major tourist destination in recent years and it is advisable to book a package tour. Booking just hotels and arriving to the Andaman without any planning might be difficult and also not easy on your pocket. Usually, the major issue a traveler experience is the ferry tickets and conveyance, because Andaman is different from other travel destinations mostly they provide all ferry and ship tickets in prior Specially August- May is season time it’s very difficult to get the tickets in the last moment, So we advise you to book a complete package or car rental with a travel agent by this you get a logistic support. By planning everything before your arrival is highly recommended.
